About Us

Crooked is a cold-water wetsuit company built by surfers who don’t wait for summer. We started in New England because that’s where we surf—and because cold water has a way of exposing what actually works.
We couldn’t relate to the big, mass-market surf brands. The gear felt overbuilt in the wrong ways, underbuilt where it mattered, and priced like performance was a luxury. So we decided to make something better.
Not louder. Just better.
Cold water doesn’t reward shortcuts. It punishes poor fit, stiff materials, and lazy construction. That’s why every Crooked wetsuit is designed and tested in real Atlantic conditions—when the water is cold, the wind is up, and sessions last longer than planned.
We use premium Japanese Yamamoto neoprene because it’s warm, flexible, and durable in the ways that matter once you’re actually in the water. Every detail is there to help you move, seal out cold, and stay comfortable long enough to enjoy the session.
Because warmth isn’t about toughness.
It’s about staying in the water.
Surfing already has enough barriers. Your wetsuit shouldn’t be one of them.
Crooked exists to make high-quality cold-water wetsuits more accessible—without cutting corners or inflating prices just to say we’re “premium.” We believe good gear should feel welcoming, not exclusive.
Whether it’s your first winter or your twentieth, you belong out there.
Don’t take our word for it. Read about us in the press.
Crooked isn’t built around a single founder story or a highlight reel. It’s built around the people who paddle out when it’s quiet, help each other in the parking lot, and stick around through the cold months because they love it.
That’s why community matters to us—not as a marketing channel, but as the reason we exist.
Our community pages highlight the surfers who ride Crooked gear, test it in real conditions, and represent the brand the right way.
Not because of follower counts.
Not because of perfect clips.
But because they:
These are the surfers who help shape what we build next.
Cold-water surfers go through wetsuits. Even the good ones eventually wear out. Instead of letting those suits sit in garages or end up in the trash, we built the Wetsuit Exchange.
Send us your old wetsuit—from any brand—and get credit toward a new Crooked suit. We recycle the old one responsibly and help you stay warmer going forward.
It’s a practical solution to a real problem. Nothing more than that.

No trend chasing. No empty promises. Just wetsuits built for people who actually need them.
We’ll see you out there.
